Chrysa Chin
Athlete Development Pioneer | Strategic Advisor | PAC Advisory Board Member
Chrysa Chin is a nationally recognized leader in athlete development, strategic engagement, and post-career transition, with over three decades of experience shaping the lives of elite athletes. A trusted advisor, speaker, and mentor, Chrysa serves on the PAC Advisory Board, where she helps drive player-first programs rooted in wellness, leadership, and long-term impact.
Chrysa spent 17.5 years at the National Basketball Association (NBA), where she served as Vice President of Player Development and helped build the foundation of modern athlete support. She led groundbreaking programs such as the Rookie Transition Program and the Player Assistance Program, providing players with critical resources for both on- and off-court success.
Following her NBA tenure, Chrysa joined the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) as Executive Vice President of Strategic Relations, Engagement, and Development. There, she oversaw six departments focused on player success—including Mental Health & Wellness, Career Development, Off-Court Transition, and Player Programs. Widely known as “the mother figure behind the NBA engine,” she leads crisis management and continues to guide hundreds of athletes through career highs, personal challenges, brand evolution, and life after the game.
A trailblazer in sports leadership, Chrysa played a pivotal role in negotiating the 2017 and 2023 NBA Collective Bargaining Agreements, championing equity and expanding long-term opportunities for players. She also spearheaded key NBPA initiatives—ICONIC, Bespoke, and Global Elite Youth Sports—that reimagined athlete development on both domestic and international stages.
Before her time at the NBA, Chrysa worked as a Relationship Management Consultant for Nike, developing athlete-centered marketing strategies and community partnerships. Her leadership extends beyond the league. Chrysa currently serves on the boards of the NBPA Foundation, National PAL, PlayersTV, SWAC, and Cache AI, and is an advisor to Advancing Beyond in Sports (formerly Advancement of Blacks in Sports). She also supports mentorship and advocacy initiatives through the Atlantic Council and Speak Up Africa/Basketball Africa League.
At PAC, Chrysa brings her decades of experience and player-first mindset to life, ensuring that current and former pros have the guidance, access, and support needed to thrive far beyond the game. She is also a proud mom to Joel Garcia, a Player Development Coach for the Westchester Knicks, who is now forging his own path in athlete mentorship and empowerment.
