They paid for 13 years of private school for him and his sister—who went on to attend Princeton and Duke Law—and attended every single one of his games, even while he was across the country at Stanford. Picked up by the Eagles and placed on the practice squad, Thomas committed to the grind, locked into his recovery, and focused on staying ready. He worked his way onto the active roster, played in every game that season, and became a Super Bowl champion.
