Golf Career

Matt started playing golf at age three but also grew up immersed in football and other team sports. His father, a college football player, and his twin brother—now a Beverly Hills police officer—shaped his competitive mindset early. After playing football through high school and junior college, he transitioned to Fresno State for golf, and eventually turned pro with the help of a longtime family friend who sponsored his early career.

Matt played across Latin America and the U.S., earning his Korn Ferry Tour card in 2016 and setting a course-record 61 in 2017 that cemented his full-time status. But in 2022, after years of travel and pressure, he made a confident decision to step away from the grind. He knew there was more to life than just trying to keep a card. The transition wasn’t filled with regret—it was filled with excitement.

Vault Leverage Capital

Now a partner at Vault Leverage Capital, Matt helps investors secure funding for residential real estate projects—from new builds to fix-and-flips to business-use bridge loans. The CEO of the company is a longtime friend and golf partner, and when Matt retired from professional golf, it was a natural next step into a world that still offered competition, networking, and long-term strategy. He’s thrown himself into learning the space with the same energy, discipline, and drive that defined his golf career. The learning curve was steep, but Matt embraced it—absorbing everything from deal structure to risk management. He thrives in the grind, and now, one year in, he’s not only making deals but building meaningful relationships that remind him of the camaraderie and challenge he once found on the course.

Mentality on life

Matt is based in Scottsdale, AZ after a decade in Charlotte and is focused on building his next chapter. He’s divorced, no kids, and open about how that experience shaped his perspective. He finds joy in helping others navigate life, love, and pressure. He doesn’t take bad days out on others, and he lives by a code of discipline, happiness, and loyalty. While he doesn’t yet know what his personal foundation or organization will look like, he knows helping others will always be a part of his mission.
