Community
Visualize and Rize, the non-profit Jermon started in 2010, is as much a reflection of his upbringing in Virginia as it is the way he and his wife are raising their children. VR seeks to support youth sports and education programs on a regional level, focused on the communities he has lived in and played for (Virginia/Chicago/Miami/New Orleans) Thanks to Jermon, more than 325 scholarships have been awarded and can calendars are always filled with engaging fundraisers and meaningful volunteering opportunities. On top of that, VR has partnered with other entities such as the local Virginia YMCA to provide specialized memberships and Christmas community toy drives. They are currently working with the county to revitalize a local school.
Advocacy
In 2018, the NFL veteran and his wife Jessica lost their week-old daughter Jordyn Lynn to Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome (WHS) – a rare genetic disorder that causes developmental delays and health issues. This tragedy inspired the Bushrods to expand Visualize and Rize Foundation beyond sports was immediately obvious and has allowed him to encourage conversations around inclusivity and healthcare research. His efforts have contributed to advancements in understanding WHS and medical care, raising awareness and fostering collaborations while also helping to support other individuals and families that have experienced WHS.

Family
Being present for his family has become priority number 1 in this season of his life. After losing his daughter Jordyn, Jermon shifted his perspective and now focuses on being available to not only his children, but other kids in the community. Working as an elementary school kids basketball coach, flag football coach, and more has given him the opportunity to mentor kids and push them athletically. He enjoys being able to stay connected and be alongside his children on their personal journeys. He appreciates that not all parents have these same opportunities and cherishes this time with his family in this next chapter.
