Family
Jason has always believed that success on the field starts at home. He lives that philosophy everyday with his wife, Melissa, and their 3 kids (Liana, Kaiden, and Kai). Being at home with them during the pandemic was part of his inspiration for setting up “Chromebooks for Kids” – a fund he started to purchase $90,000 worth of Chromebooks for students who don’t have access to computers at home.
Broadcasting
Jason retired in 2021 and joined the NFL Network’s Emmy Award-winning show Good Morning Football in July after he participated in the NFL’s Broadcast Boot Camp for former players. He is continuously expanding his media footprint as an analyst for The Big Ten Network and Westwood One’s Thursday Night Football radio coverage all while co-hosting the “Double Coverage” podcast with his brother, Devin.
Community
The McCourtys are a driving force behind a variety of efforts focused on healthcare, youth development and social justice. From co-founding “Tackle Sickle Cell” with his brother and joining the Boston Medical Center’s Philanthropic Trust, to partnering with the Players Coalition to donate $50,000 to a Boston high school to help students access resources needed for remote learning.
Charity
Jason and Devin launched their “Tackle Sickle Cell” (TSC) Campaign back in 2013 with the aim of educating the public, increasing blood donations and raising money and awareness for the fight against sickle cell disease. Sickle cell disease is a rare blood disorder that impacts approximately 100,000 Americans. To date, Tackle Sickle Cell has raised millions of dollars net profit to support families battling sickle cell and expanded from its start in New Jersey to all of the NFL cities for which the brothers played.
