Essang Bassey’s passion for giving back is deeply personal. Growing up with a brother who has autism, he saw firsthand the challenges that families in the special needs community face. That experience has shaped his commitment to working with organizations like Easterseals, ensuring that children and families receive the resources and support they need.
His involvement isn’t just about donations or appearances—he is hands-on, mentoring kids, attending events, and using his platform to raise awareness. He believes that athletes have a responsibility to uplift their communities, and he is dedicated to making a lasting impact both during and after his football career. Whether it’s through volunteering, fundraising, or advocating for better support systems, Essang remains committed to creating meaningful change for families who need it most.
Sports Business & Future Goals
While football remains his primary focus, Essang is already thinking ahead about his long-term career. He has a strong interest in sports business, front-office operations, and brand partnerships, aiming to stay within the sports world after his playing days.
At PAC, he gained valuable insights into sports marketing, real estate, and business development, learning from industry leaders who have successfully transitioned into high-level executive roles. The experience shifted his perspective, showing him that the skills he’s developed as an athlete can translate into business success.
His next steps include exploring leadership roles within sports organizations, building relationships with executives, and continuing to educate himself on the business side of the game. Whether it’s team operations, player development, or brand strategy, he is preparing himself for a smooth transition into the next phase of his career.
