Scottsdale was a turning point for me. It opened my eyes to how much is out there beyond football. The PAC team made everything feel real, relatable, and possible. I walked away inspired to make my money work for me and to start making moves in business, especially real estate. It reminded me that my story’s just getting started.

Off the Field Success

UPBRINGING & MOTIVATION

Born and raised in Florida City and Homestead, DJ Ivey grew up in a single-parent home with three siblings and quickly stepped into the role of leader. As the oldest, he felt the weight of responsibility from a young age, which shaped his maturity and outlook on life. He was recruited to the University of Miami, where he spent five years navigating the highs and lows of college football, including injuries, expectations, and criticism. He was driven by a desire to prove himself—not just on the field but in life. That chip on his shoulder still drives him today.

NFL & RESILIENCE

Being drafted in the seventh round by the Bengals was a moment of pride, but also a wake-up call. DJ knew nothing would be handed to him, and he’d have to earn every rep. That mindset only deepened after his rookie year was cut short by a torn ACL — a devastating blow for any player. But rather than letting it derail him, DJ saw it as a challenge to grow. He threw himself into rehab, focused on rebuilding his body and sharpening his mind. Every setback has been met with reflection, discipline, and a steady drive to improve. The experience not only tested his physical limits, but helped him develop the kind of mental resilience that now defines his approach to the game — and life. He’s learned that resilience isn’t just about bouncing back — it’s about coming back better.

Business & Growth Mindset

Outside of football, DJ is diving into business and personal development with the same intensity he brings to the field. He’s committed to sharpening his mind, regularly reading motivational and financial literature to stay inspired and informed. Mental exercises like Sudoku and crossword puzzles keep his thinking sharp, while also giving him a sense of focus and control outside the game. DJ takes a proactive approach to learning about real estate, studying the market and building knowledge before making any major moves. He’s especially interested in investing in vacation and island properties — not just for the potential returns, but for the lifestyle and legacy they represent. For DJ, this phase of life is about more than just earning — it’s about building something that lasts. He’s laying the groundwork now to ensure that his money works for him in the future, and he’s excited by the challenge of learning how to play the long game in business.

Community & Giving Back

DJ is proud of how far he’s come and remains grounded in gratitude for the people and places that shaped him. Growing up in South Florida, he saw firsthand how limited resources and opportunities can hold people back — and he’s committed to being part of the solution. He’s passionate about giving back, hosting annual turkey drives and actively seeking ways to support underserved youth in his hometown. Whether it’s showing up to local events, mentoring young athletes, or simply being present in the community, DJ understands the power of visibility. His story is one of rising above the odds — and now, he’s focused on helping others do the same. He wants the next generation to know that success is possible, and that someone who came from where they come from is rooting for them. For DJ, giving back isn’t just a gesture — it’s a responsibility.
