Off the Court Success

a basketball journey built on resilience

Cory Higgins was born into the business of basketball, growing up in California while his father Rod Higgins played, coached and was a front office executive for the Golden State Warriors. Surrounded by the game at an elite level, he was mentored by legends, including his godfather, Michael Jordan. This early exposure shaped his understanding of both the opportunities and challenges that come with being a professional athlete. Despite excelling in soccer and baseball, Cory committed to basketball, transferring across the country to IMG Academy to chase his dream of playing at a major Division I program. He went on to have an incredible career at the University of Colorado, where he started every game, became the school’s all-time leading scorer, and earned All-Big 12 honors three times. After going undrafted in 2011, he signed with the Denver Nuggets before later joining the Charlotte Bobcats. When his NBA opportunities didn’t materialize as planned, he set his sights on playing internationally—a move that would define the rest of his career.

Cory went on to achieve global success, winning two EuroLeague championships, four VTB United League titles, and multiple Liga ACB and Copa del Rey championships. His dominance in Europe solidified him as one of the most accomplished international players of his era, earning him recognition as one of the top 25 players in EuroLeague history. During his time overseas, Cory also started a family. He met his wife, Christine, in Dallas in 2012, and she took a leap of faith, traveling the world with him throughout his career. Together, they lived in Russia and Spain, welcoming their two children while in Barcelona, where Cory played his final seasons before retiring in 2023. Now back in Dallas, he has transitioned into life after basketball, using his experiences to empower the next generation of athletes.

Faith, family & purpose

Cory’s career was filled with success, but after retiring, he realized that achievements mean nothing without purpose. He re-evaluated his core values, grounding himself in faith, service, and family. His relationship with Jesus is at the center of everything he does, guiding him to serve others and lead with intention. He sees himself as a vessel for something greater, using his platform to uplift and empower others. His wife, Christine, and their two children are his greatest motivation. The two met in Dallas in 2012 and have built a life together across multiple countries. When they became parents, they decided to settle in Barcelona, where their two children were born. Now, they are back in Dallas, creating a strong foundation for their future.

Quiet7: A Mission to Empower the Next Generation of Athletes

Cory founded Quiet7 in 2019 with a mission to empower the next generation of athletes by providing them with the tools, insights, and mentorship they need to navigate their careers. Having played professionally across the NBA, EuroLeague, and international leagues, he has seen firsthand the gaps in education and resources for young athletes entering the professional world. Whether it’s understanding the business side of sports, avoiding common pitfalls, or learning how to prepare for life beyond the game, Quiet7 is designed to bridge those gaps and set athletes up for success.

The name Quiet7 is deeply personal, representing both faith and mindset:

  • Quiet reflects the importance of stillness, presence, and internal growth, helping athletes develop the right mentality to succeed.
  • Seven holds significance in his life, as each of his three names, Courdon Dennard Higgins, contains seven letters, symbolizing spiritual completeness and alignment with his purpose.

Through Quiet7, Cory is creating a new model for athlete development, ensuring that young players receive the mentorship, education, and guidance they need—not just to succeed in their sport, but to thrive in life.

Leading PAC’s Basketball Vertical

As the Head of Basketball Operations at PAC, Cory is leading the charge in building a rapidly growing basketball vertical that provides support, mentorship, and career development for current and retired players. After spending years at the highest levels of the game, he understands the unique challenges athletes face—especially when transitioning out of their sport. Through PAC, he is creating a network and system of resources that help former players navigate their post-career opportunities, financial decisions, and personal growth.

With PAC’s expansion into basketball, the program is growing faster than ever, connecting more former players with the tools and community they need to thrive beyond the game. Cory’s role allows him to bridge the gap between basketball and business, ensuring that athletes have access to education, mentorship, and opportunities long after their playing days are over. Whether it’s helping players explore new careers, develop business ventures, or simply adjust to life outside of competition, he is committed to guiding others through the same transition he has experienced himself.
